Reporting to the Program Manager, the Project Manager will be accountable for the operational and financial performance of a designated project(s), ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Aecon’s strategic objectives.
Location: Vancouver (Or Open for Calgary/ Edmonton)
What You'll Do Here:
- Lead and manage the operational and financial performance of a designated region, ensuring business plan objectives and targets are achieved
- Monitor workload, financial results, risks, and opportunities, and proactively escalate issues to the Program Manager as required
- Resolve project-level legal and contractual matters, escalating complex issues when necessary
- Build, develop, and lead a high-performing management team with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
- Develop and implement staff development and succession plans for key roles within the organization
- Review and approve expenditures and proposal pricing within delegated authority
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and union partners
- Ensure all regional operations align with corporate and divisional strategies, policies, procedures, and business plans
- Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to Superintendents and field crews across the region
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall operational success
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a combination of technical training and relevant industry experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in a Project Coordinator or Project Manager role
- Demonstrated experience within the utility contracting industry
- Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Proven ability to resolve project issues and disputes with minimal supervision
- Ability to foster collaboration and teamwork across departments and project teams
- Willingness and ability to travel between Utilities yards as required
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and MS Project
- Highly self-motivated with strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently, accurately, and effectively under pressure
Salary: The expected salary for this position is $95,000 - 135,000
Individual pay is determined based on several factors such as work location, education, experience and unique skills.
