Equipment Coordinator

About Us

SA Energy Group is a General Partnership between Robert B. Somerville and Aecon Utilities, a division of Aecon Construction Group.  SA Energy Group provides mainline pipeline construction services to the Canadian Oil and Gas industry.  We have a strong project backlog and our successes are well documented having constructed over 1000 km of large diameter pipeline over the past 7 years.

 

Purpose of the Position

Under the supervision of the Project Manager, the Equipment Coordinator will be responsible for the administrative functions of the Equipment department and coordination of equipment for the project.

 

Status of the Position

This is a temporary full-time position.  The work schedule will be 6 days on (Monday – Saturday) and 1 day off (Sunday), 12 hours per day.  The employment term shall be dependent on the duration of the current project and future project workload.

 

Location

The position will be camp-based, working out of one of the following, or a combination of, SA Energy Group’s Project Offices in:

 

  • Vanderhoof, BC
  • Parsnip Yard, BC

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting project-specific equipment needs.
  • Issue purchase orders for all rental equipment.
  • Coordinate all Rolling stock and maintains accurate logs of fuel fobs and vehicle keys.
  • Update Insurance, registrations, and other certifications as needed for all equipment.
  • Apply Unit numbers to all equipment and ensure an accurate ongoing equipment list throughout the project.
  • Review, code, and log all equipment supplier invoices for accuracy, reconcile variances and submit to Head Office for processing (job-specific).
  • Follow up on outstanding invoices directly with suppliers.
  • Monthly reconciling of supplier accounts.
  • Maintain regular contact with operations to track mobilization, demobilization, equipment moves, and repairs.
  • Work collaboratively with SA Energy Group’s Project Team to ensure safe and efficient project execution.
  • Identify and evaluate new technologies by staying current with industry groups to improve asset performance, reliability, and to meet current and future business requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

 

Required Knowledge and Skills

  • Related post-secondary education or working towards a degree or diploma is considered an asset.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an equipment coordinating role, preferably in a high-volume environment in the construction industry.
  • Experience in a heavy equipment environment preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must possess and demonstrate excellent computer skills; highly proficient in Microsoft Office software i.e.; Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Experience using CMS Systems (SAP, B2W, HCSS) systems is an asset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Desire to take ownership of tasks assigned and willingness to learn.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to work effectively with limited supervision and in a team environment.
  • Must possess a Valid Driver’s license.
