Reporting to the Project Director, the Field Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the project team. Responsibilities include managing project documentation, maintaining project trackers, coordinating Fiber drawing reviews and submittals.
What You'll Do Here:
- Provide Manager, Operations with data and project analysis.
- Support Project Director in management of projects and crews.
- Track productivity, costs, and progress on projects.
- Perform quantity take-off from construction drawings.
- Liaise with and inform utilities on project schedule.
- Communicate with customer technical support departments.
- Distribute administrative documentation appropriately upon award of project.
- Monitor and provide job cost reports to management on active projects.
- Provide data and input for month-end reconciliations.
- Create and submit progress and final invoicing to accounts receivable.
- Maintain files and correspondence on active and completed projects.
- Provide technical support to field staff.
- Coordinate the preparation and submission of as-built drawings.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
- Attend and record minutes for project-related meetings and conference calls, ensuring action items are tracked and communicated.
- Support the preparation and distribution of project-related communications, reports, and updates.
- Work effectively in both site and office environments, ensuring seamless coordination between project teams.
- Adhere to all company workplace policies, standards, procedures, and safe work practices.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Education to include a technical college diploma, engineering degree, or combination of technical training and/or relevant experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a Field Engineer role, preferably in the Telecom sector.
- Previous technical/splicing knowledge is an asset.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Project. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, SAP, and P6 is considered an asset.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
- A positive attitude, adaptable, and committed to contributing to a supportive team environment.
