Lead Scheduler

Purpose of the Position
Under the general supervision of the Project Controls Manager, the Lead Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for the production and development of complex, resource loaded project schedules, gathering and interpreting project data from both internal and external sources throughout the project’s life cycle and influence and advise on corrective actions when necessary.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead team of schedulers, managing the schedule process, and driving consistency across the project.
  • Management, review and integration of sub-contractor schedules into the Master schedule.
  • Consolidate updates from multiple segments.
  • Perform technical quality analysis on schedule.
  • Coordinate monthly update reviews including narrative development and finalization.
  • Manage schedule risk assessments.
  • Coordinate and manage the management level reporting consolidated from each segment.
  • Resource loading.
  • Prepare, Maintain, Monitor, Coordinate and Communicate detailed project master schedules using Primavera P6, Suretrak or MS Project. 
  • Implements Sub-trades schedules into master schedule and monitor ongoing progress. 
  • Report progress of schedules at project meetings, monthly forecasts and status report updates. 
  • Provide ‘look-ahead’ schedules for Sub-trade and Construction site meetings. 
  • Prepare and update project cash flow analysis. 
  • Support project team with necessary training when needed. 
  • Provide computer knowledge support to other Employees in department. 
  • Participate in proposal preparation and presentations as required.

Required Knowledge and Experience
⦁    Minimum 10 years + of planning / scheduling experience on multi-year projects with at least 3 years in a lead role.
⦁    A degree in Engineering from a recognized institution. 
⦁    Experience in a heavy infrastructure environment is required, bridge project experience is an asset. 
⦁    Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel). 
⦁    High level proficiency with Primavera (P6), required. Knowledge of MS Project, an asset. 
⦁    Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and time lines. 
⦁    Commitment to working in a team environment. 
⦁    Strong oral and written communications skills. 
⦁    Some travel to the US will be required occasionally.
