Aecon is focused on identifying, attracting, and hiring talented and diverse individuals for Surveyor opportunities located in various project sites throughout Ontario and on our Major Projects. Surveyors will be responsible for coordinating and laying out various aspects of construction projects with a high level of accuracy, ensuring the design criteria is adhered to and well documented. 

 

What You'll Do Here:

  • Maintain and verify provided control network
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and calibrated
  • Coordinate and undertake planning and implementation of survey requirements to facilitate construction activities
  • Maintain accurate survey records, documentation, and stamped submittals
  • Provide layout at various stages of construction
  • Perform site surveys and layout work for structural concrete components and anchor bolt positioning
  • Provide clear communication with site team in a professional manner
  • Manage as-builts information and digital records

 

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Post-secondary education in Surveying, Geomatics or Civil Engineering
  • Knowledge of survey practices and standards
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in structural concrete layouts and anchor bolt installations would be considered an asset
  • Deep understanding of anchor bolt tolerances, templates, and placement techniques
  • Strong spatial awareness and attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in the use of office, data, surveying, and engineering-based software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of engineering design and survey methods
  • GPS and total station experience required
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Available to travel to various projects
  • Driver’s license (Class G). Driver’s Abstract required
