Position Title:  Verification & Validation Manager

Reporting to the System Assurance Manager, the V&V Manager provides management and technical expertise for Verification & Validation of Requirements and Processes for the Finch LRT Project. Working in the System Assurance Team, the V&V Manager will also coordinate with the Design Team, Vendors and Testing & Commissioning Team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage V&V activities as per V&V plan and update the plan as required.
  • Review all necessary V&V tasks and allocate V&V responsibilities to appropriate parties.
  • Ensure deliverables are in compliance with the project agreement and subcontracts, where possible. 
  • Implement the plans and procedures defined in V&V plan. 
  • Review test procedures and test results, from the verification and validation point of view. 
  • Coordinate with Quality Control to validate project requirements.
  • Witness validation tests as required during testing and commissioning phase.
  • Support population of V&V input into IBM Rational DOORS database.
  • Perform other requirements and compliance management tasks as required.
  • Chair the test review panel.
  • Liaise with project design groups, quality, project management and other project teams.
  • Gather evidence from Design, Construction and Testing and Commissioning team for verification and validation purposes.
  • Have a strong knowledge of requirements management and ensure the coverage of requirements all along the project, ensuring that testing (via various means) provides a full coverage to guarantee EoR sign-off and CSSO sign off. 
  • Ensure correct implementation of the requirements: functional requirements and safety requirements.
  • Implements and completes the traceability matrix, in cooperation with the other project stakeholders.   


Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Engineering degree (electrical preferred); or Technologist Certificate and appropriate experience. 
  • 5 years of experience in the rail industry including knowledge.
  • 4 years of experience in V&V.
  • Familiar with railway standards as CENELEC.
  • Experience with test procedure generation and interaction with testing and commissioning team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and Outlook Options.
